Police ask for public's help in Elliot Lake mall investigation

Provincal police continue to request the public come forward with information regarding the partial collapse of the Algo Centre Mall in Elliot Lake.

OPP said they are working with engineers and other experts, as well as the Ministry of Labour, to develop a plan that will allow police to access the facility safely. Until its investigation is complete, police said the building will remain sealed to preserve and protect the scene.

Police have also asked mall tenants, merchants and the public to not access the building.

Once police officers finish their examination and analysis, a plan will be developed so tenants and others can retrieve property from the disaster site, which claimed the lives of two women on June 23.
