It's been a rough start to the hockey season for SudburyWolves head coach Paul Fixter.

Not only is the team under pressure for what is now a twelve-game losing streak, Fixter came under fire last week for a profane outburst at a reporter in Sault Ste. Marie.

After a 7-2 loss to the Soo Greyhounds, Fixter was clearly agitated by a line of questions from a reporter. After a testy and emotionallycharged exchange about the game, the reporter pressed, "Did you work hard?", to which Fixter replied, "F--kyou."

A video of the interview went viral.

"I lost my cool," said Fixter. "You know, for that I apologized publicly. It wasn't my finest moment ... that's for sure. I'm an emotional person, I'm passionate. I care about the team, I care about our players, and [you] can't crucify me for that."

Fixtersaid his players are feeling beat up about this losingstreak, and that's made him defensive.

"I didn't appreciate some of the things that were being said and written [about the team]. So I had a little bit of an explosion, and for that I'm sorry that it was caught on camera."

He says the team just needs a few wins to turn their luck around.

"We have a good group of kids here that are working hard and believe in one another and our job is to coach them to the best of our ability."

Paul Fixter spoke with CBC Sudbury Morning North radio show host Markus Schwabe:
