The Porcupine Health Unit is reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 in its coverage area, bringing the total amount to 21.

Six cases were reported by the health unit Tuesday night, and include two children under the age of 10.

Wednesday afternoon, the PHU added three more cases to the list. They include a man in his 60s and a woman in her 60s. Both were in close contact with a previous case and are in self-isolation.

Officials with the health unit won't be specific about their location, only saying they're in the Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls area.

A third case, that of a 60-year-old man in the Timmins area, is currently under investigation.
