Thunder Bay Sports Dome owners weighing options after weather-related collapse

The owners of the Sports Dome in Thunder Bay, Ont. are still examining their options regarding the future of the facility, according to the business' general manager.

The owners of the Sports Dome in Thunder Bay, Ont. are still examining their options regarding the future of the facility, according to the business' general manager.

Lori Robertson told CBC News that a final decision has not been made yet on whether the dome can be repaired or replaced.

"We're looking at weighing all our options and just waiting on all our reports to come in," she said, adding that there will be further news once all the information is available.

The inflatable structure collapsed during high winds and heavy snow on November 18.

The Sports Dome is home to four soccer organizations in Thunder Bay, as well as a brand new mixed martial arts training gym.

Representatives from some of those tenant organizations have told CBC News they remain hopeful the facility can be repaired and re-opened.
