Here are the results for the Thunder Bay mayor and council races

The polls are closed, the votes are counted, and Thunder Bay has a new city council.

Voters sent a handful of familiar faces to City Hall, but they'll be joined by several brand-new councillors for the upcoming term.

Apart from some minor delays earlier in the day, by all accounts, the election process was smoothaccording toelections officials, though there was a ballot issue with the Thunder Bay Catholic school board race in Shuniah.

Here are the winners:

Mayor Ken Boshcoff

Ken Boshcoffhas been elected mayor a position he heldfrom 1997 to 2003 with 13,538votes.

The mayoral race was a relatively-tight one, withGary Mack finishing in second placewith 12,145votes.

The race was rounded out by Peng You in third place, Clint Harris in fourth, andRobert Szczepanski in fifth.

At-large

Voters elected three incumbents Mark Bentz(15,548votes), Shelby Ch'ng(13,222votes), and Trevor Giertuga(12,185votes) to at-large seats.

They'll be joined by two new city councillors: Rajni Agarwal(10,767 votes) and Kasey (Taylor) Etreni (10,184 votes).

Current River Andrew Foulds

Incumbent Andrew Fouldswas re-elected comfortably, earning 3,456 votes.

Foulds beat outDuff Stewart(596votes) and Andy Wolff (562votes) for the seat.

McIntyre Albert Aiello

Incumbent Albert Aiellowas re-electedwith3,758votes.

Brent A. Boyko finished second with2,178.

McKellar Brian Hamilton

Incumbent Brian Hamiltonwas re-elected with 2,178votes.

Lori Parasfinishedsecond in the race with 1,151votes, andCory Bagdonthird with 392.

Neebing Greg Johnsen

Greg Johnsen took the ward with 1,322votes.

Yuk-Sem Wonfinished second with 1,128, andDebra Halvorsen third with 386.

Northwood Dominic Pasqualino

Dominic Pasqualino was elected to his first term as a councillor with 1,957votes.

Syed Kabir ended up in second place withhas 944, while Mike Maher finished third with 732.

Red River Michael Zussino

Michael Zussinowas elected Red River councillorwith 2,115votes.

Jason Veltrifinished second with 1,999, while Martin Rukavina placed third with 901.

Westfort Kristen Oliver

Incumbent Kristen Oliverwill serve another term on council, receiving 2,222votes.

John Collinsfinished the race insecond with 1,955 votes, followed by Alan D. Corbett with 244.
