Toronto Blue Jays flag raised at City Hall

With excitement growing about the team's first appearance in the Major League Baseball's playoffs in 22 years, the Toronto Blue Jays flag was raised at Nathan Phillips Square today.

With excitement growingabout the team's first post-season appearance in22 years, the Toronto Blue Jays flag was raised at Nathan Phillips Square today.

Members of city council and Mayor John Tory were on hand to fly the flag. Blue Jays mascot Ace also attended. Hundredsof fans turned out, most wearing BlueJays gear.

Tory suggested that the games could be broadcast on a big screen in the square.

The Blue Jays will play their first playoff game on Thursday.

The game will start at4:07 p.m.if the New York Yankees win or at3:37 p.m.if the Houston Astros win the wildcard playofftonight. For Game 2, the Jays will play at12:45 p.mon Friday.
