Some highlights of Doug Ford`s outspoken views

Doug Ford put his name on the ballot Friday, but he is not new to the mayoral race.

He has acted as his Rob Ford's campaign manager since the beginning of the race, often speaking on behalf of the mayor.

"He is well known to Torontonians," said mayoral candidate John Tory, who called his new opponent an "insult machine".

Tory was referencing both Doug Ford's tenure as campaign manager and as a rookie councillor for Ward 2 Etobicoke North. Ford has seen his share of controversy and conflict.

In the last four years, some of the people Doug Ford has feuded with include:

  • Police chief Bill Blair.
  • Premier Kathleen Wynne.
  • The Toronto Star and various journalists at that paper.
  • Actor Kevin Spacey.
  • Deputy mayor Norm Kelly.
  • Author Margaret Atwood.
