Drake night 'surreal,' Toronto rapper says at Raptors game

Canadian music star Drake says Drake night is all about creating moments for Toronto to celebrate and he's on board with anything that will bring excitement to his hometown.

Rappers are usually known for their turns of phrase, but when it cameto Wednesdaynight's third annual Drake night, the Toronto-born hip-hop superstar was nearlyat a loss for words.

"It's definitely surreal," Drake told reporters before the Raptors game at the Air Canada Centre. "I was talking about it today with my mom."

But the Canadian rap superstar saidthespecial event is something he's trying to do to create moments for the city.

"Yes, it's named after me, but it's definitely dedicated to Toronto," the 29-year-old hip-hop sensationsaid. "It's something we try to do for the city," he added.

"Anything I can do for my city, Toronto, I'm on board."

Raptors general managerMasaiUjiri joined Drake at the Air Canada Centre before Toronto tipped off against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"We also want to thank Drake for all the great things he does for us and you the great fans," Ujiri said.

The basketball executive presented the Toronto-born musician with a custom jacket with the Raptors third jersey embedded inside.

Shirts and other Drake-inspired merchandise wasavailable tofans at the game.

Earlier in the day, Toronto Coun. Norm Kelly showed off his Drake-inspired dance moves in a nod to the popular music video for the rapper's Hotline Bling. Fans were encouraged to also attempt their best Drake impressions at a special replica box.

"I've been watching everybody," Drake said of the dancers. "That's flattering."

As for Raptors with the best moves to his hit track, Drake said his money was on Luis Scola.
