Meat Loaf is taking over Yonge Street like a 'Bat Out Of Hell'

Meat Loaf might do anything for love, and he might also do anything for publicity.

With Bat Out Of Hell: The Musicalset to premiere in Toronto in October, the singer is taking over a large chunk of Yonge Street between Queen Streetand DundasStreet on Monday evening to promote his new show.

MirvishProductions calls the event a "sneak-peek" atthe musical, and says it will include the cast singing four songs from the show.

But what might draw the biggest crowdof allis the legendary rocker himself.

Meat Loaf is expected to introduce the musical and talk about his role in its creation. He will "hand over the torch of [his] storied music to a new generation of artists," says a Mirvishnewsrelease.

The show has been a dream of Jim Steinman's for more than 50 years, Mirvish Productions says. Steinmanwrote the book, music and lyrics for the musical.

The event starts at 7 p.m. on Monday. Tickets for the musical will go on sale the following Thursdayand themusical itself will open Oct. 14 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre.

The show is focused on a "young, rebellious leader" named Strat who falls in love with Raven, the daughter of the most powerful man in post-apocalyptic Manhattan.
