Metallica could be playing the Air Canada Centre. Instead, they're taking the stage at the Opera House and they're doing it for charity.

The iconic band is set to play the 950-person venue next Tuesday night, with all proceeds from tickets going to the Daily Bread Food Bank. The band is also encouraging its metalhead fans to bring non-perishable foods to donate at the doors.

Tickets, which members of the band's fan club get first dibs at snapping up, go on sale this Wednesday morning and will cost between $25 and $100.

What to expect? "We can't get enough of that hot, sweaty old-school small show vibe," the band wrote on the show's event page.

Metallica just released its latest album, HardwiredTo Self-Destruct.
