Man charged with 2nd-degree murder in Mississauga stabbing

A 25-year-old man is now facing a second-degree murder charge linked to a womans stabbing death in Mississauga earlier this week, Peel police say.

A 25-year-old man is now facing a second-degree murder charge linked to a woman's stabbing death in Mississauga earlier this week, Peel police say.

Officers were first called to a motel in the area of Britannia Road E. and Whittle Road just before 9:30 a.m. Monday, police said in a news release.

Paramedics and police located a woman in her 50swho had been stabbed. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

On Tuesday, a 25-year-old Mississauga man was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He was held for a bail hearing.

Police say the accused is a relative of the victim, and the case is "not considered an intimate partner violence incident."
