Funeral funds raised in a day for PATH stabbing victim Rosemarie Junor

Nearly $30,000 in donations has poured in to cover the funeral expenses of Rosemarie (Kim) Junor, a newlywed who was fatally stabbed in an underground Shoppers Drug Mart in Toronto on Dec. 11.

Nearly $30,000 in donations has poured in to cover the funeral expenses of Rosemarie (Kim) Junor, a newlywed who was fatally stabbed in an underground Shoppers Drug Mart in Toronto on Dec. 11.

The GoFundMe campaign surpassed its $25,000 target within a day of its launch by herbrother Miguel Junor. By Sunday afternoon more than 430 people and organizations had contributed.

That included a $1,000 donation from Shoppers Drug Mart, one of the largest single contributions to the campaign.

'My sister fought a great battle'

Junor, 28, was stabbedinside the drug storein Toronto's underground PATH system an act police say was random and unprovoked.

She was rushed to hospital, but died of her injuries on Wednesday.

"My sister fought a great battle but her vibrant life was cut short," Miguel Junor wrote on the GoFundMe site. "My family is heartbroken at the thought of continuing in this life without our beautiful Rosemarie."

Rohinie Bisesar, 40,has been charged with second-degree murder.She is scheduled to return to court onJan. 8.
