Peel Regional Police say they arrested a Toronto man for trafficking crack cocaine on the weekend and also found additional drugs and a loaded gun at his home.

Police say a 35-year-old man was arrested in the Lakeshore area of Mississauga on Saturday.

He was allegedlyfound in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana.

When police executed a search warrant at his Toronto residence, they found a loaded semi-automatic firearm, as well as "crack, ecstasy and drug paraphernalia," according to a news release issued Sunday.

Police say the accused is under a lifetime firearm ban.

While police say the man faces "numerous firearm and drug related offences," an inventory of those criminal charges was not provided in the Sunday news release.

Police say the accuseds common-law spouse has been charged with firearm-related offences.
