Fans of TVs Breaking Bad are going be glued to their couches tonight, as the final episode of the Emmy Award-winning dark drama goes to air.

In Toronto, there are some bars and restaurants where fans will gather to see what happens to Walter White, the fictional chemistry teacher whose entry into the world of meth-making and drug dealing has been at the centre of the show for five seasons.

By late Sunday afternoon, there were a growing number of tweets from people trying to make arrangements to see the finale.

At Clintons Tavern on Bloor Street West, assistant manager Jackie Pyper said that at least 30 people had called on Sunday to ask whether the bar would be showing the last episode of Breaking Bad tonight.

The answer is yes. They will also be serving specialty drinks, including one named for the shows protagonist, Walter White (a drink involving bourbon, cream, sugar, egg whites and nutmeg), as well as another for Albuquerque, N.M., the city where the show is set.

Were expecting it to be crazy, Pyper told CBC News in a brief telephone interview on Sunday evening.

Pyper said that staff expect to see Breaking Bad aficionados to start showing up at about 6 p.m. But the final episode wont air until 9 p.m.

A blue burger?

Further north in the city, The Butchers Son at 2055 Yonge St. has been selling Heisenburgers over the weekend, a name that references the criminal alter ego of the shows main character.

Matthew Kumprey, the man behind the shops name, said that his chef introduced him to the show.

As the show has been ramping up to the finale, Kumprey said he and his colleague have been "watching it religiously," waiting to see what will happen in the end.

The two fans tried to come up with either a special burger or sausage that would have a connection to the show.

The Heisenburger was the name they chose. The goal was to make it blue like the colour of the illegal product that White is known for in the Breaking Bad universe.

Kumprey said that his chef used a pork/veal mix and a sauce involving blueberries in an attempt to make a blue burger.

He did his best, Kumprey said. It didnt come out blue, it came out purple.

In any case, they sold out of the first batch they made and had to make more.

Not everyone is caught up

Breaking Bads final season was split into two halves.

Pyper said Clintons has been showing each of the episodes of the last half of the final season. But she has run out of time to catch up before the finale airs.

For me, personally, Im actually four episodes behind, Pyper said, noting that in recent weeks, shes had to avoid seeing what was playing at her workplace, so that she wouldn't spoil what she hadn't seen yet.

For the half of the final season that has already aired, the show was awarded the Emmy for outstanding drama. Anna Gunn, who plays Walter White's spouseSkyler on Breaking Bad, won the award for best supporting actress in a drama.

The show has won additional Emmy awards in previous years, including three best actor wins for Bryan Cranston (Walter White) and two best supporting actor awards for Aaron Paul, who plays his criminal partner Jesse Pinkman.

Ahead of Sundays finale, Adam Proteau, a Toronto-based writer for The Hockey News tweeted a summary of the series that was sure to upset some local Leafs fans.
