Truck traffic on Huron Church Road is backed upfrom the Ambassador Bridge all the way to Highway 401 Thursday afternoon.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as of 5p.m. there were 75-minute delays for commerical vehicles entering Detroit by bridge. There were also delays Wednesday afternoon at around 3 p.m., with a 80-minute wait time for commercial vehicles.

One truck driver told Radio-Canada that it took him three hours to cross the bridge a big difference from the typical 30-minute crossing he's used to.

Due to the U.S. government shutdown, border officers aren't responding to media inquiries. It's unlcear as to what exactly is causing thedelay.
