Some lucky book loverspoured into thebrand new W. F. Chisholm branch of the Windsor Public Library Wednesday afternoon, for a look insidethe new location.

Not only does it have the usual collection of books, the library also has a distinctive auto theme.

"We have the most unusual collection of automotive information in Canada," said library CEO Kitty Pope. "Including repair manuals and sales brochures, everything automotive."

Pope said the library also has historic automotive books and new titles.

"We know that Windsor is the automotive capital of Canada... so it made a whole lot of sense to have an automotive collection here at this branch," she said.

The branch was built at a cost of about$2.6 million and replaces the Remington Park and Walkerville branches.

Pope said it's fully-loaded with "all of the technology you'd expect in a 21stcentury library."

"It's fantastic, it's been wonderful to watch it coming into being. We love the garage door welcoming everyone to come though there and this fantastic collection of books here," said resident JoanPadbury.

Padbury said the automotive books are a "real treasure trove" to have at the library.

The branch officially opens to the public on Saturday at 1:30 pm with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
