No injuries reported after shots fired, vehicle burned in east Windsor

The police department's Major Crimes Unit isinvestigating after shots were fired and avehicle burned in east Windsor on Thursday morning.

The police department's Major Crimes Unit is investigating after shots were fired and a vehicle burned in east Windsor on Thursday morning.

Shortly before 7 a.m. ET, officers responded to the 1500 block of Monticello Street, north ofFirgrove Drive, for reports ofshots beingfired at a home and a vehicle set on fire, police said in a news release.

"Through investigation, officers discovered multiple bullet holes in the exterior of a residence," police said in the release.

"Officers learned that a white cube van had been seen leaving the area at the time of the incident. Shortly after, police were called to the nearby area, where a fire had intentionally been set to a white cube van."

No injuries were reported as a result of these incidents, police say.

Investigators are asking residents in the immediate vicinity of both incidents to check their video surveillance or dashcam footage for evidence.

Police say anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously.
