Body of swimmer missing from Leamington pier in Lake Erie is recovered by OPP

The body of a 46-year-old male swimmer who went into Lake Erie off the Leamington Pier on Saturday night was recovered Monday morning.

The body of a 46-year old male swimmer who went missing from the Leamingtonpier was recovered by Essex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) on Monday morning.

On Saturday night, two people entered Lake Erie but only one made it back to shore.

Police received the report of the missing swimmer at7:53 p.m. ET.

The Essex County OPP Marine Unit, along with the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, found the body, according to a news release.
