Windsor pot proponents support task force recommendations

Recommendations, released Tuesday by a federal task force, say the provinces should regulate sales to prevent the illegal sale of marijuana.

Windsor-based Canadian Cannabis Confederation says proposals to legalize pot is a move in the right direction

Jon Liedtke of Canadian Cannabis Confederation supports federal task force's recommendations on pot legalization announced Tuesday.

Windsor proponents for the legalization of marijuana support the latest federal recommendations that outline how pot should be produced, sold and taxed in Canada.

Those recommendations, released Tuesday by a federal task force, say the provinces should regulate sales to prevent the illegal sale of marijuana.

The federal government promised to legalize pot during the last election campaign.

Windsor-based Canadian Cannabis Confederation applauded the report. Founder Jon Liedtke says it's a move in the right direction.

"By normalizing this substance, by allowing people to migrate out of the black market and adjust the marketplace as a whole, then the black market shrinks," he said.
