Chatham-Kent musicians create haunting music video honouring front-line workers

A pianist and a violinist, both friends and neighbours, made a touching tribute toworkers on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The violinist,Jennifer Trinca, said her neighbour and friend,Sue Lowther, texted her over the weekend to come into the backyard with her violin.

Keeping a safe distance, the two played a duet ofImaginebyJohn Lennon.

"Sue and myself were aware that the arts are often overlooked until times are difficult or sad," said Trinca in a message to CBC News Windsor.

"We wanted to continue to make music to ease the worries of others in this unusual time."

Trincais also a music teacher with theSt. Clair Catholic District School Board in Chatham-Kent and Lowtherruns a piano studio in that region as well.

"[Lowther]opened the windows and door and we just began playing together," said Trinca.

This is the fourth video the pair have made together, using the hashtag "show us your lyrics."

"The response has been one of immense gratitude and calm and we are so thrilled that music can help others," said Trinca."We are of course incredibly grateful to all of the front-line workers."

The taped message on the bricks was created by Mark Reinhart who is the Arts and Culture co-ordinator for Chatham-Kent.
