Pedestrian killed in crash in Lambton County

A pedestrian has died following a collision on Highway 402 at the off-ramp to Highway 40 south, in Sarnia, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.

A pedestrian has died following a collision on Highway 402 at the off-ramp to Highway 40 south, in Sarnia, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say.

Police and emergency services responded to the collision involving a single motor vehicle and a pedestrian just before 10:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Police said the pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where they were later pronounced dead.

The Lambton County OPP continues to investigate to determine the identity of the victim and to notify next of kin.

Highway 402 eastbound, Sarnia, off-ramp to Highway 40 southbound and Modeland Road northbound were closed for several hours to allow for investigation. The off-ramp has since been reopened, police say.
