Small earthquake detected near Leamington

A small earthquake was detected near Leamington, Ont. Saturday night, according to the United States Geological Survey.

Themagnitude 2.2 quake was recorded at 9:50 p.m., about 16 kilometres north east of Leamingtonnear Wheatley Road and Essex Road 8.

The geological survey websiteindicates the quake was five kilometres below the surface and considered to be minor.
