CBC Windsor's annual Sounds of the Season food drive is underway and Friday, Dec. 11, we broadcast live and accepted donations at St. Clair College. It was an incredible day.

Sounds of the Season (SOTS) is CBC Windsor's annual charity drive in support of local food banks and food and monetary donations are flowing in.

To date this season, 3,000kg (6,600 lbs) food and $7,000in cash has been raised.

For the annual charity drive, CBC made a stop at St. Clair College on Dec. 11 to broadcast Windsor Morning live. And we then made a return trip there that eveningtobroadcast CBC News: Windsor.

If you missed us live at St. Clair College, you can donate online and also drop donations off at CBC Place, at 825 Riverside Dr. W., between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily between now and the end of December (excluding weekends, and Dec. 24-25)

Please make cheques out to The Unemployed Help Centre, and if you need a receipt for tax purposes, please write that on the cheque and one will be mailed to you.

You can also donate online by clicking here or on the donate banner above.

The morning broadcast on Dec. 11 featured live performances by local musicians and special guests including:

  • Crissi Cochrane
  • Michael Paul
  • Dave Russell
  • Music Theatre Performance students from St Clair College, under the direction of Katherine Kaszas and musical director Mike Karloff

The Windsor Essex County Canoe Club donated an entire canoe filled with food during the broadcast.

Rose City Ford directed a donation to the Children's Aid Society.

St. Clair College basketball players held a group weigh-in last month, coming in at 1,821 kilograms or 4,014 pounds.

CBC Windsor's and St. Clair's challenge to our audience and fans was to donate more food than that in total weight. We've done that and more. We're collecting through December.
