Transit Windsor raises bus fares across the board

Monthly transit passes for adults will jump nearly $9 in July, according to the latest fare increases rolled out by the city's bus operator.

Transit Windsor raised the cost of riding the bus across the board for the first time since January 2014.

Adults will pay $95.70 for a monthly pass, rising from the current $87. Students buying the same monthly passes will now pay $66, instead of the previous $60.

Customers buying passes for June will pay the current rate, but the cost will jump when July passes are available as of June 15.

Riders buying regular, one-way city transit tickets will pay $3 after June 30. The new fee will bump up from the current $2.75.

Summer students won't seeany breaks either. Student summer saver passes, for the months of July and August, will increase to $105, up from the current $96.
