East Windsor residents with flood-damaged items can put their material at the road today for a special garbage pickup.

Windsor Disposal Service crews will be collecting mattresses, appliances, rugs and building material from residents living east of Walker Road.

Since the volume of the material is expected to be high, collection may continue past today.

Here are a few things to know before putting your material at the road.

  • Rugs must be cut and bundled in four-feet lengths.

  • Building materials must be bundled, bagged or placed in pails.

  • Nails must be removed from all wood and drywall.

  • Collection crews will not pick up loose material, the hard-sided garbage container by-law will be waived for the special pickup only. Garbage bags must be placed side-by-side at the curb.

  • Household chemical waste will not be collected.

Residents living west of Walker Road can call 311 to register for collection of flood-damaged items.
