Ali Hashmat, 19, was described as the youngest male real estate agent in Windsor. Friends and colleagues Maher Samhat, Shafeen Aziz, Aayan Rehman, and Ibrahim Ahmad honour him with words, while veteran motorcyclist Patrick "Frenchy" Aligard has words of advice for fellow bikers.

Windsor resident, realtor, and motorcyclist Ali Hashmat is being remembered as an ambitious and inspiring person with great plans for the future tragically cut short.

"He was definitely a rising star," said Aayan Rehman, a close friend of the late 19-year-old Pakistani-Canadian. "He was the best of us, honestly. Very motivational."

Hashmat'ssudden passing killed in a collision while riding his motorcycle on Dougall Avenue on the night of April 28 was the first of two motorcycle deaths this week.

On Wednesday evening, a 28-year-oldmotorcyclist died after a collision with a guardrailnear the Hillman Marsh Conservation Area, east of Leamington. OPP said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, but have disclosed few details of the incident.

Details also remain unclear about the crash that took the life of Ali Hashmat.

Hashmat'sSuzuki GSX-R600 was a prized possession, and a regular mode of transportation. It made appearances on his social media which he used to promote his burgeoning career selling real estate.

"He was such an amazing human being," said fellow realtor Maher Samhat, who worked with Hashmat on the Jump Realty team. "Always a happy person, a very smart person. When you asked him to do something, he went above and beyond."

Ibrahim Ahmad, another friend, said Hashmatachieved his real estate license in a matter of months last year, but he was also studying business at the University of Windsor and had a long-term goal of pursuing law.

"He did the real estate course in, like, two-and-a-half months," Ahmad marvelled. "Honestly, he was like a mystery to all of us in that regard. We didn't understand what it was that just kept him going."

Ahmad said Hashmatwas born in Calgary, but moved with his parents and three siblings to Windsor before his high school years.

A funeral notice described him as "the youngest male real estate agent" in the city.

Arrangements for Hashmat were held on Wednesday at the Baitul Ehsaan Mosque.

Ahmad said Hashmat was active in the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, especially regarding charitable initiatives.

"In our faith, there are two types of rights: The rights of God, and the rights of the people. And I believe Ali was so good at fulfilling both of them," Ahmad said.

Hashmat'sfriends and family still havequestions about how the crash occurred.

Windsor police have said the motorcycle was southbound on Dougall Avenue at the intersection for the on-ramp to the westbound lanes of the E.C. Row Expressway.

According to police, a northbound vehicle attempted to turn left at the intersection, and collided with the motorcycle.

The driver of the vehicle a SUV stayed at the scene.

Hashmat was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As of Wednesday, Windsor police have not announced any charges.

Patrick "Frenchy" Aligard a veteran motorcyclist who administrates the Windsor and Essex County Biker Memorial Page on Facebook saidthe danger of left-turning vehicles is all too commonly experienced by motorcyclists.

"It's sad," Aligard told CBC Windsor. "When we ride, and we see somebody wants to make a left, we usually slow down. Just in case he decides to turn."

Aligard said that, as much as he loves motorcycling, hereadies himself for bad news of motorcycle fatalities on local roads when the summer riding season starts.

"Look out for one another," Aligard advised. "As a biker, you don't just look and go. We gotta look two or three times before we decideto move, because we don't know."

Rehman, who is a fellow motorcyclist, described Hashmat as "a very cautious rider. Always made sure safety was first."

Despite Hashmat's youth, Rehman said he had years of experience motorcycling. "He helped me get my license," Rehman said. "He helped me get into riding. He kept me safe."

Shafeen Aziz, yet another friend, said he and many others will miss Hashmat'sconstant positive influence.

"His main motivation was helping young people get better housing and live better lives," Aziz said. "He wanted to educate people like himself, who are going into the adult life, to make good decisions."

"We never expected someone this young to leave us. And this shock is something it's still going to take time for us to absorb."
