Windsor police looking for suspect after crash into Children's Aid building

Windsor police are looking for a suspect after a driver crashed into the Children's Aid Society building on Riverside Drive Sunday morning.

Police responded to a report of a crash around 7:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Riverside Drive East and determined a car had crashed into the south side of the building.

"The vehicle, a grey SUV, which was left in total disrepair, caused significant damage to the facility. The motorist left from the scene prior to officers' arrival," police said.

Police are now looking for a suspect, described as a man approximately 6 feet tall and wearing a baseball hat, hoodie with the hood up and covering his face and shorts. Police say no injuries were reported.

Residents, business owners and people in the area between 4:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. are asked to check their surveillance and dash camera footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
