Conservative party runs Leo Demarce as Windsor-Tecumseh candidate in 2019 election

The Conservative Party of Canada has formally minted Tecumseh local Leo Demarce as the party's Windsor-Tecumseh candidate in the upcoming federal election.

Demarce, described as a small business owner and lifelong resident of Tecumseh, made his debut at the Riverside Sportsmen's Club in Windsor.

He said that he wouldn't "lose sight of the region's need to sustain employment throughout economic shifts and to further promote our economic development."

"I will be the only candidate in WindsorTecumseh supporting balanced budgets, keeping taxes affordable for families and the offering of economic policies that create sustainable jobs," said Demarce.

Windsor-Tecumseh has been an NDP stronghold since the district was first contested in 2004.

Joe Comartin held the riding from 2004 until 2015, when Cheryl Hardcastle took over the district for the NDP.

The upcoming federal election is set for Oct. 21, 2019.
