TPP: Public consultations on trade deal coming to Windsor

Windsor residents will get a chance to have their voices heard on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal in May.

Windsor residents will get a chance to have their voices heard on the Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal in May.

Representatives from the House of Commons Standing Committee on International Trade will be in Windsor May 12 to hold a public consultation meeting on the deal.

The travelling committee wrapped up its meetings in Canada's western provinces last week.

In a statement, the committee said it's encouraged by what it has heard from Canadians on the project so far.

During these meetings, it became evident that Canadians are very interested in the TPP agreement and want to share their input

Public consultations will also be held in Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto.

The meetings will be open to the public and more information will be provided when the details are finalized.Canadians who wish to provide a written submission must do so before June 30 and can be emailed to the committee.
