Dean Brody, Brett Kissel, Gord Bamford vie for Canadian country music honours

Country stars Dean Brody, Brett Kissel and Gord Bamford lead this year's nominees for the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, unveiled on Wednesday.

Country stars Dean Brody,Brett Kisseland Gord Bamfordlead this year's nominees for the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, unveiled on Wednesday.

Brodyearned five nominations, including male artist and songwriter of the year as well as single and video of the year for Bring Down the House. He's also one of the contenders in the Fans' Choice category.

Kisselalso nabbed a handful of nods, including male artist, interactive artist andrecord producer of the year. His track Airwavesmakes him a finalists in the best single race, while he's also an audience favourite vying for the Fans' Choice crown.

Bamford earned four nominations, including male artist and songwriter of the year.Meanwhile, his Tin Roof isin the running for album of the year andhis song Don't Let Her Be Goneis up for best single.

Also picking up multiple nominations were Johnny Reid, Dallas Smith, The Washboard Union, Cold Creek Country, Jess Moskaluke and Bobby Wills.

The Canadian Country Music Association Awards will take place during country Music Week, set for London, Ont. Sept. 8-11. Hosted by TV personality JessiCruickshank, theawards gala is set for Sept. 11, airing on CBC-TVat 8 p.m. (8:30 p.m. NT).
