Depp, Law and Farrell to replace Ledger in unfinished film

Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell are set to replace Heath Ledger in the unfinished film The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, according to BBC News.

The report says Law's spokesperson has confirmed the three actors would play the role of Tony in the film, directed by Terry Gilliam. She did not have details on how the role would be re-written.

Reports say Ledger's scenes will stay on while Depp, Law and Farrell will play incarnations of the character.

Production on the film was suspended after Ledger died from a drug overdose on Jan. 22. He was found in his Manhattan apartment.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus follows troubadours who travel the countryside offering people the chance to pass through a magical mirror to alternate dimensions.

Production on the film had already moved to Vancouver for interior and bluescreen scenes, which allows computer-generatedelements to be inserted.

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus is expected to be released in 2009.

A pathology report found Ledger died from an accidental overdose of six different types of prescription drugs.

The 28-year-old Australian actor had been filming scenes for the movie in London just prior to his death.

Friends and family gathered at a memorial service Feb. 9 in Ledger's hometown of Perth, Australia.Several actors and directors were on hand, with actress Cate Blanchett delivering a eulogy.
