Though pop singer Katy Perry was ultimatelydeemed too saucy for Sesame Street, she's welcome in Springfield, where she'll make an appearance in an upcoming episode of The Simpsons.

Last week, producers of Sesame Street announced that a segment for its 41st season premiere featuring Perry with monster puppet Elmo was being pulled after they received complaints about her low-cut outfit (the video first appeared on the Sesame Street YouTube channel online).

Amid the rampant online discussion that subsequently emerged, Simpsons executive producer Al Jean revealed that Perry has completed a guest stint for a forthcoming episode which features Perry as herself and Springfield's cast of wacky characters as live-action puppets set to air in early December.

Nohard feelings?

Though her Sesame Street spot was pulled, a spokesperson for Perry said that the singer enjoyed her time visiting the long-runningchildren's show. Her on-screen partner, Elmo, also expects to collaborate again in the future.

"Elmo loves Ms. Katy and we had a good time," he said on an appearance on Good Morning America last week. "So we'll have another play date."

"In the wake of Elmo's terrible betrayal, the Simpsons puppets wish to announce they standfelt-shoulder-to-shoulder with Katy Perry," Jean told Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Perry will portray town bartender Moe's girlfriend in the Dec. 5 episode entitled "The Fight Before Christmas." Her appearance was filmed in mid-September.

The California Gurls singer also poked fun at the Sesame Street tempest on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live, where she was the musical guest, over the weekend. In a "Bronx Beat" sketch with SNL alums Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph, Perry portrayed a busty teen clad in a cleavage-baring Elmo T-shirt whose blossoming figure has been causing a fuss at a local library.

Perry will also be voicing the character of Smurfette in the live-action movie The Smurfs slated for release in 2011.
