Prince William predicts 'incredible night' for Concert for Diana

Princes William and Harry say they are feeling both excited and nervous ahead of the massive tribute concert to be held in the memory of their mother Diana,the late Princess of Wales,on Sunday.

The princes were examining preparations being made at Wembley Stadium in London onSaturday as they listened to a sound check and held a news conference.

A host of music stars, from Elton John to Nellie Furtado, Lilly Allen and Kanye West, are slated to perform at the sold-out Concert for Diana, to be broadcast live worldwide.

The July 1 concert, on what would have been Diana's 46th birthday, marks the 10th anniversary of her death in a Paris car accident.

"We're really excited by it," said Harry, 22, standing on stage with his brother and singer Joss Stone, who was personally invited by William.

"We'll definitely be up at some point giving some sort of speech," saidPrince William, who admitted they were both feeling nervous.

"It wasn't something we were contemplating and now we're like, 'OK, 65,000 people at Wembley and God knows how many people will be watching it on television.'"

Lucky to have Stone perform

Williampersonally askedBritish soul and blues singer Stone for the songs he'd like to hear at the concert. During the call, hetold her that You Had Me was his favourite song and requested that she sing it on stage.

He also explained that his mother was a Tina Turner fan, so Stone has decided to perform What's Love Got to Do With It.

At the prince's request, her set will also include the Queen hit Under Pressure, with Queen guitarist Brian May joining Stone onstage for her performance.

"We're very lucky to have her and everybody else that's singing along it's going to make the evening an incredible night," added William.

The princes organized the tribute concert, and said they hoped it would help people remember their mother in a positive way.

The lineup features a mix of artists favoured by Diana and her sons.

Other performers include Duran Duran, Andrew Lloyd Webber, the English National Ballet, Fergie, Tom Jones and Pharrell Williams.

Incelebration of Canada Day, Sam Roberts and K'naan will play in a bash in London's Trafalgar Square in advance of the Concert for Diana.

An exhibit of photographs, film footage and other memorabilia from the life of Diana went on display Saturday at Kensington Palace.

Called Diana: A Princess Remembered, the exhibit is the largest collection of images of the princess to date, organizers said.

It will run to January 2008 at the palace, which was her home in London.
