Taylor Swift secretly wrote a country song for Little Big Town, band reveals

Word of the country music collaboration has some fans wondering if the Nashville based artist would make a surprise appearance at Wednesday's CMA Awards.

Taylor Swift fans are eagerly anticipating a follow-up to her massive 1989 pop album, but it appears the the singer-songwriter has been busy writing up a storm for other artists.

The American country music band Little Big Town revealed that the Shake It Off singer was the scribe behind their new single Better Man during a press conference Tuesday onFacebooklive.

"We told you there was a young girl in Nashville who wrote it all by herself," explained Little Big Town singer Karen Fairchild in the video."It's Taylor Swift."

"She sent us this song," added Fairchild,"and it was one that was really special to her."

Emotional breakup song

The banddecided to keep the 26-year-old megastar's involvement secret to let the music speak for itself.

The emotional breakup song, which is the first single offLittle Big Town's upcoming albumThe Breakers, is about awoman who is "better off alone" than staying with a jealous and emotionally unavailable partner.

Swift, who is famous for being the queen of breakup songs, also confirmed the secret on Twitter.

Surprise CMA appearance too?

Better Manalso represents a return to country music for Swift, who successfully crossed over into mainstream pop music with1989.

Billed as country music's biggest night, Wednesday marks the CMA Awards50thanniversary show. The gala airs Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Secret credits

It's not the first time Swift has kept her songwriting credits under wraps.
