The 2000s: The decade in pop culture

Its hard to believe that its been 10 years since the much-feared arrival of Y2K. While the promised chaos never came, it nonetheless set the tone for a tense decade. Whats even harder to believe is that there isnt widespread agreement on a name for the past 10 years. Is it the Zeroes? The Nils? The Oh-Ohs? The Oughts, the Oughties, or as the British say, the Naughties?

Whatever you call it, the decade has been an eventful, soul-searching yet exciting one for pop culture. The week of Nov. 2 - 6, CBC News takes a look back at the most important films, music, books and trends of the decade which, for simplicitys sake, were calling the 2000s.
