From the CBC Vault: Politicians live it up on the campaign trail

Did you know that Stephen Harper has a real knack for impersonating former prime ministers? "I do them all," he tells a crowd of supporters at a campaign stop in 2011.

He really does do a mean John Diefenbaker. His Jean Chrtien isn't too shabby either. It's something you won't want to miss and it's proof that despite the gruelling schedule, politicians do sometimes have fun on the campaign trail.

We dug deep into the CBC archives to find some choice shots from campaigns past.

There are few on here that you might remember former Progressive Conservative Leader Robert Stanfieldfumbling a football or Jack Layton strumming along on his guitar singing "This Land Is My Land" as reporters joined in but there are also some other lesser-known moments.
