Blue Jays fan gets 'unreal' Bautista bat flip tattoo

Scoot Mason, a Toronto tattoo artist, and Lee Baxter, the owner for FY Ink, put the idea out on social media and asked if anyone wanted to remember the bat-flip for the rest of their lives. One fan said yes.

For one Blue Jays fan, having pictures of Jose Bautista tossing his bat after hitting that game-winning homer wasn't enough. He needed a tattoo of it.

Scoot Mason, a Toronto tattoo artist, and Lee Baxter, the owner for FY Ink, put the idea out on social media and asked if anyone wanted to remember the dramatic scene for the rest of their lives.

One fan said yes.

"I was watching the baseball game the other day and it was just amazing. As soon as I seen the picture, I'm like, 'Somebody needs to tattoo this,'" Mason told the Toronto Star.

That moment in particular is what clinched the Blue Jays' entry into theAmerican League Division Series.

Less than 24 hours after the 6-3 victory against the Texas Rangers, one fan had the scene tattooed on his thigh, though the whole process took about five and a half hours according to Global News.

Mason posted both a before picture andthe end result on his Instagram account, which quickly attracted the attention of other fans.

"Had a real fun times tattooing this today!" he wrote in the description for an image with can be seen below.

His post showing off a Bautista fan's tattoo attracted about 3,561 likes, but a fan of the tattoo reposted the photo on his own feed and garnered another 38,200.

"I have heard and seen some crazy stuff in the last 24 hours but this one takes the prize home!! #ImOnSomeonesBodyForever #Crazy#Cool #Tattoo #Unreal," Bautista wrote from his instagram account, JoeyBats19.

The tattoo isn't universally beloved however. A Texas Rangers fan, in particular, didn't seem to enjoy it.

"A guy from Texas wrote on my picture, 'Toronto sucks [...] and so do you,'" Mason said to the Star.

But Mason doesn't take the insult too seriously. He's just happy to be part of the moment.

"It's a going to be iconic history," he told Global. "It's a serious moment for Canadian sports, you know, and I'm proud of them."
