French first lady sings to 'charming prince' husband on new album

French President Nicolas Sarkozy might be the leader of an influential G8 country and a powerful nuclear nation, but he's also a "darling," a "charming prince" and even an "orgy," according to a new album released Friday by his pop-star wife.

Carla Bruni, an Italian-bornmodel who married Sarkozy in February after a three-month whirlwind romance, released her album Comme si de Rien N'tait (As If Nothing Happened ) in France and much of Europe on Friday morning. It will be sold in stores in Canada on Tuesday.

The albumhas already received rave reviews from some French critics, although it's stirred controversy over its racy lyrics.

Bruni, in abreathy voice, sings of how her lover is her drug, "more deadly than Afghan heroin, more dangerous than Colombian white [powder]." She goes on to talk about "her guy," and how she would "roll him up and smoke him."

The song, My Drug, has already drawn criticism from Colombian Foreign Affairs Minister Fernando Araujo, who calls its references to Colombia "painful." The song is said to be dedicated to Sarkozy, even though it was written before Bruni and Sarkozy started dating,

'I give you my body, my soul, my flower'

In another song,Bruni, 40,speaks directly to Sarkozy, 53.

"I give you my body, my soul, my flower, you are my lord, you're my darling, you're my orgy," sings Bruni, wholater notes thatshe's as innocent as a child, even though she's had 30 lovers.

"I am burning for you like a pagan woman," she sings. "I who made men dance, to you, I give myself entirely."

Bruni who used to date celebrities like Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Kevin Costner and Donald Trump, andfamouslycalled monogamy "boring" in an interview last year has said she understands if people can't listen to her album.

"If people don't listen because I'm married to the president of the republic, I understand," she told France Inter radio, according to BBC News.

The album is Bruni's third, although her first since becoming France's first lady. Her first album, Quelqu'un M'a Dit (Someone Told Me) was a hit when it was released in 2002, sellingtwo million copies. The second album No Promises, featuring famous English-language poems set to music, flopped with only 80,000 sales.

Bruni has said she will not go on tour with her new album, and will give all royalties to charity.
