Indiana primary live blog: Results, updates and analysis

It was a decisive night for the remaining presidential hopefuls as Indiana voted in the presidential primary and the race dropped from five candidates to four. On the Republican side, 57 delegates are up for grabs, while Democrats vie for 83 delegates

It was a decisive night for the remainingpresidential hopefuls asIndiana votedin the presidential primary and the race droppedfrom five candidates to four.

Donald Trump won the Republicancontest. That meanshe will most likely go on to clinch the nomination. The win caused Ted Cruz to drop out of the race.With the exception of California, Indiana hadthe mostdelegates up for grabs (57) in the remaining Republican primary contests.

Democrat Bernie Sanders also won tonight. The win helpsto keep him fromfalling further behind front-runner Hillary Clinton in the delegate count. Democrats werecompeting for 83 delegates in Indiana. The delegates willbe distributed proportionally.

Polls closed at 6 p.m. local time. Indiana spans both the eastern and central time zones, so waves of results started to come in shortly after each closing time.
