'She's alive': Girl pulled from rubble 17 hours after Italian earthquake

Cheers broke out when she was pulled out 17 hours after the temblor hit the mountainous region. Two women ran up the street yelling: "She's alive."

But there were wails when bodies emerged in Pescara del Tronto.

"Unfortunately, 90 per cent we pull out are dead, but some makeit, that's why we are here," said Christian Bianchetti, a volunteerfrom Rieti who was working in devastated Amatrice.
