Prince Harry graduates from military college

Prince Harry, the third in line to the British throne, graduated as an army officer on Wednesday and he'll train with a regiment that could be sent to Afghanistan or Iraq.

Prince Harry, the third in line to the British throne, graduated as an army officer on Wednesday and he'll train with a regiment that could be sent to Afghanistan or Iraq.

His father, Prince Charles, stepmother Camilla and elder brother Prince William attended the colourful ceremony at Sandhurst Military Academy.

Harry grinned widely after his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, stopped to have a few words with him as she inspected the parade.

The 21-year-old becomes a second lieutenant in the Household Cavalry, where he will train as a troop commander in charge of 11 men and four tanks.

It's possible the armed reconnaissance unit could be sent to join other British troops currently serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.

The son of Diana, the late Princess of Wales, said last September that he looked forward to combat.

"There is no way I am going to put myself through Sandhurst and then sit on my arse back home while my boys are out fighting for their country," Harry said in an interview to mark his 21st birthday.

Harry made headlines last week after newspaper reports said he and some friends celebrated his graduation early with a visit to a London strip club, the Spearmint Rhino.

He has also been photographed during a scuffle with photographers outside another club and dressed as a Nazi officer for a costume party.

When Harry was 17, his father sent him to a drug rehabilitation clinic for a day after he was caught with alcohol and marijuana.
