Zurich police say mosque gunman was from Switzerland, had no ties to Islamic radicalism

A man who shot three worshippers in a Zurich mosque on Monday evening was a 24-year-old from Switzerland, and had no apparent links to Islamic radicalism, police said Tuesday.

Police didn't give the man's name, but said he is also thought to have killed another man in Zurich on Sunday.

It appears the man took his own lifeshortly after the mosque shooting, police officials told a news conference. Police found his body300 metres away.

Two of the three mosque victims were seriously injured in the attackshortly after 5:30 p.m. local time near the main train station in Switzerland's financial capital. A third sustained less severe injuries.
