Johnny Gaudreau re-signs with Calgary Flames

Johnny Gaudreau has reportedly re-signed with the Flames for six years, US $40.5 million dollars with an average annual value of $6.75 million.

Johnny Gaudreauplans to stay in Calgary for a long time.

The 23-year-old forward from Salem, N.J. has re-signed with the Flames for six years, US $40.5 million dollars with an average annual valueof $6.75 million.

Gaudreau had been a restricted free agent since his entry-level contract expired back on July 1.

"Johnny Hockey"was Calgary's leading scorer last season with 30 goals and 48 assists in 79 games played. His 78 points placed him sixth in league scoring.

Gaudreaualso featured on the high-octane Team North America at September's World Cup of Hockey, where he scored two goals and two assists in three games.

The Flames were able to re-sign Gaudreau before the season begins against provincial rival Edmonton onWednesday.
