Sens hire OHL coaches Cameron, Reeds

Ontario Hockey League coaches Dave Cameron and Mark Reeds matched wits frequently in the past few weeks, but they'll now be on the same team as assistant coaches with the Ottawa Senators.

The Senators officially announced the additions to their staff under first-time NHL coach Paul MacLean, who was hired last week.

Cameron leaves the MississaugaSt. Michael's Majors,withwhomhe spent five seasons as head coach. In the past season, he also helmed Canada's side at the world junior championships, with the country earning a silver medal.

The 52-year-old, who played in the NHL in the 1980s, is rejoining the organization. He served as head coach of Ottawa's American Hockey League affiliate in Binghamton for three years before his turn in the OHL.

Reeds, 51,earned coach of the year honours this season in the OHL, his fourth in the league. His Owen Sound Attack edged Cameron's squad a seven-game OHL final, with both representing the league at the Memorial Cup.

Reeds played 365 NHL games in the 1980s with Hartford and St. Louis.

Luke Richardson will remain with the Senators as a part-time coachand Rick Wamsleyis back for a second season as goaltending coach.

Video coach Tim Pattyson and conditioning coach Chris Schwarz are also back.
