There's a new sport in Rio, and it's not one of the newly announced additions to the next Summer Olympicsit'sMcConaughey-spotting.

Though the American actor (and Team USA fan) stopped by his home country's shop to stock up on patriotic gear before swimming on Sunday night, he turned up to take in women's rugby sevens action.CBC'sCharlsieAgrowas one of the first to catch up with him on the sidelines.

New Zealand's SarahGossseemed thrilled to have a new famous fan.

Butladies weren't the only onesMcConaughey-spottingon Monday.

Indeed, everyone was excited about celeb sparkle at rugby 7s.

MatthewMcConaugheywon't be the only star in Rio for long, though Ghostbusters' Leslie Jones has been live-tweeting the Olympics with her trademarkenthusiasm.

She even loves our Canadian women's rugby 7s!

On the strength of her tweets (and amazing humour, no doubt), NBC invited her to come to Rio to help them cover the Games.

Will she join power couple TaraLipinskiand Johnny Weir in their roles as cultural commentators? Only time will tell her tweets say she's packing today.
